PREGNANT women are getting their tummies painted in order to raise cash for Sports Relief.
Nichola Baxter and Clare Walker joined painter Sam Gray to showcase an event named Sport Relief Bump-a-thon 2012. Sam works for The Paintbrush’s Dream in Spalding and has joined together with other professional face-painters across the country for the event. She organised similar events in 2009 and 2011 for Comic Relief, raising more than £9,500. She is now on the look out for local women to help raise money to transform the lives of people across the UK and Africa. On March 23, she will be trying to paint as many bumps as possible over 24 hours, with the staff at Spalding’s Sure Start Children’s Centre donating the use of one of their rooms for the event from 11.30am-4.30pm. She will also be painting at her own home before and after these times. Each mum-to-be pays £5 per bump painting (towards costs) on the condition they receive sponsorship from friends and family. Cheryl Whitfield from Cheeky Face will join Sam at the centre to paint any extra bumps. Photographer Catherine Carter will be offering her service for free from 3pm at the centre. • Contact Sam on 07503 170234 or email sam@thepaintbrushsdream.co.uk Click this link to sponsor Sam directly Comments are closed.
